We are now seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join our Open Pit Mine Geology team at Sunrise Dam.
This is a permanent position based on an 8/6 roster with flights from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Open Pit Senior Mine Geologist, this role is responsible for undertaking all aspects of open pit production activities, including grade control, data validation, liaising with contractors, inspection and monitoring of mining activities; and to ensure the short term planning targets are met.
Accountabilities:
- Adhering to all safety procedures, identifying hazards and reporting incidents, working in a safe manner at all times.
- Designing grade control drilling programs for short and medium term planning requirements
- Scheduling and coordinating grade control drilling activities ensuring that all activities maintain a high level of safety and sample QAQC.
- Geological mapping and interpretation.
- Validation and analysis of QAQC data relating to drilling, sampling and assaying. Ensure high quality sampling and lab protocols are upheld.
- Produce high quality grade control models using conditional simulation and other techniques.
- Coordinate and interpret blast movement through BMT technology
- Contribute to short and medium term mining schedules and co-ordination of material movement and crusher feed with the Mining Alliance partners.
- Assist in stockpile management, mine to mill and resource reconciliations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the operation by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.
About You

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist with outstanding leadership skills to join our Geology team at Sunrise Dam.
This is a permanent position based on an 8/6 roster with flights out to Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Superintendent: Surface Exploration, you will supervise a small team of Exploration Geologists within a large on-site exploration team. A role which is critical in prioritising and advancing exploration targets and known surface resources by leveraging geological, geophysical and geochemical data.
The position is also crucial in assisting and executing on the strategic planning and surface near mine exploration activities within the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine leases with a focus on resource definition and growth. A key focus is on growing a pipeline of open-pit operations to address the ore shortfall between the 4MTPA processing plant and underground operations.
You will be required to supervise and maintain a small skilled surface exploration team within a large mine exploration team, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies such as Exploration for Value (E4V).
Accountabilities

Lead and oversee the implementation of SHE&C plans, management systems, and compliance processes within exploration, ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment.

Champion and drive a strong safety culture by leading safety initiatives, mentoring team members, and embedding risk management practices within the exploration team

Your role:
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality geology services while working closely with the Mining Team to maximise operational efficiency and ore recovery. This includes:

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Superintendent : Geotechnical Services for our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Manager: Technical Services, this position is offered primarily on a FIFO 4 days on/3 days off roster while occasional 8/6 swings will be required; with flights provided from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
The Role Purpose
The Geotechnical Superintendent manages all geotechnical considerations of current and proposed excavations to ensure safe production, optimising processes and strategies required to adequately assess geotechnical risk and leading the geotechnical team supporting underground and open pit operations. Working within the broader Planning, Technical and Operational Team, the Geotechnical Superintendent provides geotechnical leadership for the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine (SDGM) operations. Managing a diverse and dynamic team within an autonomous work environment, your leadership skills and collaborative approach will enable you to work across disciplines to align the mining team on geotechnical recommendations.
Accountabilities:
- Enable, co-ordinate and facilitate the development of geotechnical strategies which will optimise the productivity and profitability of SDGM mining operations
- Focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement whilst being a capable mentor and leader to a small team
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, standards, processes that provide effective systems of work for the provision of an effective geotechnical service
- Promote full statutory compliance both with the relevant mining regulations and company standards
- Develop the annual budget for geotechnical cost centres and manage it monthly
- Build organisational capability within Geotechnical Services (people & organisational structure, systems, and processes) to successfully deliver the Mining Department budget and Life of Mine plan
- Deliver geotechnical assessments and reviews as required assisting with QA/QC reports, Underground Monitoring Reports and Pit Slope Monitoring Reports
- Identify and communicate all geotechnical threats that may affect the delivery of budget physicals, work proactively to mitigate them
- Develop geotechnical monitoring strategies, for both active and inactive open pit and underground operations
- Ensure validation and interpretation of the geotechnical database through ongoing data collection and evaluation, to maintain existing models
- Establish and embed the upgrade of the sites seismic monitoring system, as well as interpretation of the seismic activity reports and the development of seismic hazard management plans

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our KalgoorlieOperations, this residential role is on an 8/6 roster working 12-hour days.
What's the role on offer?
As the Geotechnical Engineer in Kalgoorlie, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the mining operations with regards to mine planning, design and geotechnical support to optimise mine operations.
Key tasks include, but not limited to:
- Providing Geotechnical advice and direction in the planned and active underground mining areas, ensuring effective and appropriate ground support systems are in place to support safe mining activities.
- Working closely with the technical production team in the design of the mine level and stope extraction plans, including evaluating / modelling rock stress resulting from the planned extraction sequencing, crown and wall stability performance and filling requirements.
- Working closely with the operational team regarding generation, co-ordination and QC/QA for all underground check scaling & rehabilitation plans and rock bolt pull testing throughout the mine.
- Provide support with seismic data processing, analysis & reporting.
- Collect geotechnical information through mapping of underground excavations and geotechnical logging of core.
- Review and update the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP).
- Contribute to the development of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring system for mining activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent).
- A minimum 5 years' experience including 2 years' relevant UG Mining experience in a Geotechnical focused role.
- Knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to use specialised Geotechnical hardware and software, including Map3D, the RocScience suite, as well as specialised seismic software packages.
- Proficient in the use of Datamine software.
