Through BHP’s Future Fit Academy we are providing a nationally standardised curriculum for trade apprenticeships and maintenance traineeships. Campuses have been established in Forrestfield in Perth and Mackay in Queensland. These facilities include virtual reality simulation training and full mobile equipment and fixed plant workshops.
We are seeking an experienced Auto Electricians to come and be part of this amazing opportunity to develop our future workforce at our Mackay facility.
The role is based in Mackay and will involve working an 8/6 roster – (8 days on, 6 days off, 1 day on, 7 afternoons on, 6 days off), rosters are subject to change based on business requirements. These roles are town based, not FIFO, meaning you will be home after every shift. The Trainer - Apprenticeships will work closely with the students in both classroom and workshop sessions as well as working with the Supervisor Apprenticeships, Specialist Apprenticeships and relevant subject matter experts to ensure that the training materials are kept current and relevant.
About You
If you have experience being an Auto Electrician and are passionate about developing others, we are looking for you. While a Cert IV TAE is highly desirable, we may be able to assist in attaining this for the right candidate.
Ideally you will possess a number of the following skills and qualifications:
- Auto Electrical experience
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment desirable. We can assist in attaining this qualification for the right candidate.
- Willingness to set example and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours.

We are seeking experienced Auto Electricians with demonstrated experience maintaining and diagnosing earthmoving plant and equipment based in our Mobile Equipment Maintenance Division (Predominantly Newman Operations - Newman West) to conduct planned and/or breakdown maintenance and repairs, FIFO from Perth. This role offers an 8/6 7/7 rotating day/night roster.
Our Mobile Equipment Maintenance Team, workshop based offers a variety of challenges based on the individuals' skills, and we can often tailor to the candidate's needs. You will be exposed to some of the largest machinery in mining and provided plenty of opportunities to grow your skill base or your career if this is what you are after. Responsibilities include:
- Servicing, diagnosing, planned and breakdown maintenance on variety of mobile plant and equipment - Predominantly Cat 793F trucks and Cat 785 watercarts
- Following scheduled planned / breakdown maintenance and carrying out inspections on equipment as required
- Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard
- Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies
- Scoping and creating 1SAP notifications for preventative work
- Contribute to a positive team culture, working to a high degree of safety at all times, without question
About You
- Trade Qualified Auto Electrician
- Previous experience in mining, or a transferrable industry with larger sized earthmoving equipment desirable but not essential
- Cat knowledge highly desirable, however not essential
- Autonomous experience also desirable however not essential

Expressions of Interest Proposed 2/2 Roster
We are currently looking to enhance the rosters that are on offer across our Area C mine site, on the Traditional Lands of the Banjima People in Western Australia’s Pilbara. We are currently exploring the opportunity to move our Mining Production teams from a 2/1 roster to a 2 week on, 2 week off, 12-hour day and night shift FIFO roster to start in 2025. This means more days at home to enjoy doing what you love.
The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
About the Opportunity
To support this proposed change, Area C Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) teams are seeking expressions of interest from experienced individuals interested in joining our world class operation on the proposed 2/2 roster combination as HV Electrician.
Your role will focus on diagnostics, repairs & maintenance process on a broad range of fleet in Mobile Maintenance.
About You
- Australia recognised Electrical trade qualification
- WA Electrical Licence
- High Voltage Switching certificate
- Demonstrated experience in mine site maintenance of electric haul trucks
- Letourneau and Komatsu experience would be highly regarded
- Previous experience within mining is essential

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent position on a Monday to Thursday 4:3 roster, based at ourWorsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As the Electrical Technician (High Voltage), you will be responsible for safely executing High Voltage Electrical maintenance work within an operation area as per SAP processes, maintenance schedules and work instructions as directed by the Electrical Supervisor High Voltage.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions as directed by the Supervisor Electrical High Voltage or Superintendent Electrical
- Ensure work is done to the highest standard and history is recorded in SAP notifications for future reference
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Relevant Electrical HV Technician experience or in an equivalent role, with large-scale industry experience preferred.
- Experience testing, programming and interrogating HV Protection relays
- Experience maintaining a variety of high voltage apparatus including. transformers, circuit breakers and DC battery maintenance.
Qualifications for this position are:
- WA “A” Grade Electrical License

About the Role
We are currently seeking safety focused Electricians to join our Fixed Plant Shutdown team on a Dynamic 182 roster Fly In Fly Out from Perth. A Dynamic 182 roster is similar to a shutdown roster made up of 182 shifts a year, shifts will be dependent on demand but because you will be a permanent employee you still receive a consistent fortnightly pay regardless of the amount of shifts you work. HV Electrician Supervisor
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 7D7N14R ex Perth, Busselton, Karratha, and Broome
Reporting to the Superintendent of Mobile Maintenance, the HV Electrician Supervisor will oversee high-voltage electrical maintenance activities on our Heavy Mobile Equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring Fortescue, contractor, and subcontractor personnel adhere to all HSE and electrical compliance procedures, and for maintaining mobile equipment in line with OEM recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee electrical maintenance systems for HME, ensuring compliance with Fortescue and OEM standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring HSE standards are met across all high-voltage maintenance activities.
- Provide guidance to all maintenance teams, ensuring qualifications and competencies are current, including site VOCs.
- Lead initiatives to improve machine availability and optimise electrical maintenance strategies.
- Oversee incident and hazard management within BMS.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a HV Electrical Supervisor or similar leadership role within mobile maintenance.
- Relevant HV Electrical Trade Qualification and certification.
- Proven experience as an HV Electrician in the automotive or heavy equipment industry, with a focus on electric vehicles, particularly Komatsu machinery.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and components (inverters, converters, motors, and batteries).
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and protocols for high-voltage systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- HV switching certification is highly desirable.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office and SAP for operational and reporting tasks.

About the Role
We are currently seeking interest for Fixed Plant Electricians to join our teams in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Fixed Plant Electrical Supervisor, your role will involve the safe application of preventative and prognostic maintenance on our fixed plant and site infrastructure, this includes breakdown, shutdown support and modular type works within the electrical teams.
These roles will be working on a residential roster, your duties will include:
- Contributing to our safety and continuous improvement culture, BHP Operating Systems (BOS), by demonstrating a commitment to high standards of execution within your trade
- Maintain a high-level working knowledge of safety processes
- Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of all plant and infrastructure equipment.
- Have a sound understanding of maintenance management standards,
- Work effectively with other maintenance and production team members, including contractors.
- Proficiency with computer-based planning systems, ideally 1SAP & Fiori
- Ensure that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed
- Ensure adequate application of corrective work to facilitate the Planning Process.
- Monitoring of asset integrity and compliance to statutory maintenance & inspection requirements
- Strong commitment to the field management program and the coaching of activities
About You

- Australia recognized Electrical Licence
- Current Australian manual drivers licence
- Well-developed understanding of the operation and maintenance of Fixed Plant equipment

We have an opportunity for an Operator Maintainer Electricalto work across our gas turbine generation assets within the Utilities Coastal Team. The Power Station is one of four Rio Tinto Gas Turbine Power Stations in the Pilbara region, suppling power to the Mining, Port and residential assets across the whole Pilbara region.

We are looking for Electrical Maintainers (Fixed Plant) for upcoming opportunities who are interested in joining our Wet and Dry Plant Maintenance teams across our various Pilbara sites.
You’ll be part of a friendly and high performing team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. About the role
We are seeking Electrical ****Maintainers who are interested in joining the Port Maintenance and Operations teams across either ourCape Lambert or Dampier Operations.
Our port facilities consist of three shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.

About the role:
This role will report to the Principal of Fixed Plant – Mechanical & Process category in the newly established Studies and Programs team. The program lead will be expected to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders’ across our business at a divisional level, along with our engineering partners. Iron Bridge is Fortescue’s US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. The CHF, located in Port Hedland, receives Magnetite via pipeline from the Ironbridge OPF, located 145km by road south of Port Hedland. The mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed with hazards mitigated and controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed to schedule in a timely manner and to a high standard with a focus on continuous improvement practices

We are an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in powering the future of mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this position will suit an Electrical Engineer experienced within a fixed plant ore processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the OPF and CHF plants are electrically operational to achieve reliable throughput
- Provide technical support to all plant faults and break down events
- Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams on breakdowns by providing specialist technical support
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities
- Perform root cause analysis and mitigate reoccurrence of breakdown
- Manage small to medium size projects and overlook project delivery

Expressions of Interest Proposed 2/2 Roster
We are currently looking to enhance the rosters that are on offer across our Area C mine site, on the Traditional Lands of the Banjima People in Western Australia’s Pilbara. We are currently exploring the opportunity to move our Mining Production teams from a 2/1 roster to a 2 week on, 2 week off, 12-hour day and night shift FIFO roster to start in 2025. This means more days at home to enjoy doing what you love.
The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
About the Opportunity
To support this proposed change, Area C Mobile Equipment Maintenance teams are seeking expressions of interest from experienced individuals interested in joining our world class operation on the proposed 2/2 roster combination across the following opportunities. Positions in the Perth Repair Centre based in Welshpool are rare, and the centre speaks with great pride of the culture that has been fostered and built. We provide critical repair and rebuild services to various large-scale machinery sent from our West Australian Iron Ore mine sites.

We currently have vacancies for highly safety, diagnostic and technically focused Auto Electricians to join the machine rebuilds team at the Perth Repair Centre based in Welshpool, WA. We are offering an appealing 7 on 7 off Thursday-Wednesday 6am-6pm - DAY ONLY ROSTER, where you will have the opportunity to drive to work and be home every night!
The large workshop offers flexibility for their people and their lifestyles in order to grow and maintain this positive work environment. Other rosters may be considered including a 4 on 3 off Days Only roster. Flexibility is embraced at the centre and you will have the opportunity to provide your working availability on application
We currently have a vast number of machines which we are rebuilding such as 785C, 793D, 793F Trucks, D10,D10T, 16M,18 series graders, 854, 992, 994 Loaders. We complete these machines rebuilds to a deadline. The workshop is fast operating. A high level of diagnostic experience is required for this role. The ability to operate CAT SIS is advantageous but not essential.
Positions may also arise in our components department.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out all 12/24-volt electrical repairs and undertaking routine PM and upgrade improvements
- Diagnostics fault finding on electrical systems
- Using SIS on a day to day basis
- Ensuring all electrical repairs are performed in accordance with Company guidelines
- Assisting other trades on site while working cohesively within a team to reach a common goal
- Working safely to minimise the risk of injury to yourself and others
About You
- Relevant nationally accredited Automotive Electrical Trade Certificate
- Current Australian Drivers licence
- Nationally recognised Air Conditioning licence and High-Risk Licence - desired
- Experience with Caterpillar heavy earthmoving equipment, advantage but not essential
- Additional licenses such as High Risk Work Licence and Working at Heights would be highly regarded
- Strong diagnostic and trouble shooting ability with respect to heavy earth moving equipment electrical and wiring systems or transferrable skills of relevance
- Strong analytical skills with a solution focus
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team

About the Role
We have a current opportunity for Electrical Supervisors to join our Fixed Plant team, these unique opportunities within Port Maintenance are ideally suited to an individual seeking to develop their leadership skills to further support their career aspirations.
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent Execution, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP policies and procedures and relevant WHS and statutory obligations
- Responsible for upkeep and compliance to the electrical area log book. Bridging and overriding is compiled to as per procedure.
- As an Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with your appointment
- Responsible for electrical plant health and development of long term reliability of fixed plant
- Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Ensuring compliance to the Safety Management Plans during shutdowns, specifically targeting the areas of Material Risk control and technical ability
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to validate and evaluate scope, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements and maintenance activities
- Communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders
- Operating within an established maintenance management system, your key focus will be to promote a high level of team interaction and coordination
- Monitoring and measuring standards of work and performance of team members
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Current Western Australian Electrical Licence
- S26 Electrical statutory appointment, experience or ability to obtain
- Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
- Strong leadership experience in leading & developing teams
- Excellent knowledge of plant and equipment
- Highly developed analytical problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Safety focus with the ability to identify and implement safe work practices

About the Role
The role will be based at our Western Australia Iron Ore sites in the Pilbara, on an 8/6 7/7 rotating days and night shift, fly in-fly out roster from Perth.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct complex diagnostics and maintenance activities/repairs on mobile plant & equipment
- Work efficiently and effectively on plant and equipment such as autonomous Trucks and other essential critical Mobile Fleet such as Shovels, Excavators, Drills, Front end loaders, Dozers –Track and wheeled, Graders, Rollers, and Water carts
- Follow specific maintenance programs and procedures and carrying out checks on equipment as required.
- Ensure accurate completion of technical documentation, reports and drawings as required.
- Be comfortable in the use of computerised maintenance systems (SAP), including time confirmations, raising notifications and closing work orders.
- Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of ability without being supervised.
- Undertake training on a regular basis and provide support and coaching to work mates within area of responsibility.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities when required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way.
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
- Australian recognised Automotive Electrician Trade Qualification (Heavy Industry)
- Current Automotive Refrigerant Handling licence
- Forklift and High Risk Working licence
- Strong auto electrical maintenance experience with sound diagnostic abilities
- Experience working on CAT Haul Trucks 793F Haul Trucks
- Exposure to CAT Minestar Autonomous system
- Experience with Cummins & Komatsu
- Experience within Mining industry preferred, however agricultural or heavy industry will be considered
- Ability to work off schematic drawings
- Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment
