Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on large-scale mining equipment
- Undertake general fabrication duties and repairs
- Collaborate with the maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
- Maintain compliance with Fortescue and site-specific safety procedures and policies
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed to a high standard
Qualifications and Experience
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Fabrication
- Previous experience working on large scale mining equipment, in an operational environment
- High level of safety awareness and orientation
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- Experience using Microsoft programs and computer based maintenance systems (SAP desirable)
- Current C Class Drivers Licence

Boilermakers | Inland Deployment | 182 Shift Shutdown Roster | Fixed Plant
About The Role
We are seeking safety-focused Boilermakers interested in applying for upcoming opportunities with our passionate Fixed Plant Maintenance team, on a shutdown (Dynamic) 182 shift roster flying from Perth.
A Dynamic 182 roster is similar to a shutdown roster made up of 182 shifts a year, shifts will be dependant on demand but because you will be a permanent employee you still receive a consistant fortnightly pay regardless of the amount of shifts you work. The roster is forecasted 3 months in advance, so you are able to plan your life a head of time.
Having the right people working within our organisation focusing on our maintenance will allow us to unlock the value of our assets by ensuring that we have reliable equipment, predictable operations and a safe work environment for our people.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Inspection, servicing, adjustment, troubleshooting and repair of the processing plant
- Ensuring clear communication across team members and to the Supervisor in regards to downtime and trouble areas
- Following specific maintenance strategies and procedures
- Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment, and sustainable development
- Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed
- Maintaining a high-level working knowledge of safety processes
About You
- Trade Certificate relevant to your skillset is required – Boilermaker/Fabrication
- Fixed plant maintenance experience desired, adjacent industry experience also considered
- Experience having maintained Crushers, skirts, pulleys or gearboxes will be highly regarded
- Experience in removal and installation of deflectors and chutes also desirable
- High safety focused
- Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management system desirable
- Ability to identify defective mechanical components or equipment

Fabricator
Our Opportunity
**Work Location:**Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at Iron Bridge OPF, this role will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance functions for the operational process plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis such as ensuring that all works completed are adequately risk assessed and hazards mitigated and adequately controlled
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed in a timely manner to a very high quality
- Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the site and related facilities are completed within allocated time frames
- Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner and to a high quality
Qualifications and Experience
- Trade qualified Fabricator (Boilermaker)
- At least 2 years’ site based, fixed plant experience
- Experience in maintaining crushing, grinding, screening, and pumping assets
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- Demonstrated computer literacy with all MS Office and SAP
It will also be advantageous to have the below HRW licence:
- Rigging
- Dogging
- Forklift
- EWP

About the Role
We are currently looking for a qualified boilermaker who has had extensive experience with maintaining heavy mobile equipment specifically digger and drills. This is a permanent position based at our Newman East mine on a 8/6, 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, our Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations;
• Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development
• Working within MEM, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance of all surface mobile equipment. Team members are expected to demonstrate focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of their work.
• Ensuring dispatch and KPI reporting systems are kept up to date and reflect actual equipment status for down time and data is analysed to identify trends and target improvement opportunities;
• Ensuring adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
• Australian recognised Boilermaker / Fabrication trade qualification - essential
• Experience as field maintenance boilermaker
• Proven experience working with Liebherr diggers and Epiroc drills - highly desirable
• Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, be self-motivated and show passion toward the equipment within the department.
• Experience in mining maintenance environments
• Capability in 1SAP or similar maintenance management systems (desirable)
• HR Class driver’s license - essential
